I'm searching for a python/pygame project to collaborate

Hi, I've been programming with python and pygame for a year now, I
started a RPG game, did some small toy apps (like exploring mandelbrot
set) and an entire End-of-Career project about Evolutionary Computing
and Natural Algorithms (5000 lines more or less) with this language.

I'd like to use this knowledge in some funny way, I'd like to code a
good game, maybe some RPG or platform-type, but I don't want to do it
alone, neither to start it from scratch. I want to join some group that
is currently working on a game, so I can learn from more experienced
coders and, at the same time, do something that I can see someday used
by others. I don't want fame and glory, but to have a good time doing
what I know how to do.
My main interests and knowledge are on algorithms and artificial
intelligence.

If anyone is part of a project that needs good amateur coders, I'd like
to know, thanks.

You might also ask this on the pygame list, which is accessible as a
newsgroup from news.gmane.org.

Sorry about the cryptic subject line, but I wanted to capture the essence of my message in a single line. I am learning Python (which, as everyone know is the best language :-) so that I can write a tutorial to teach my kids about computer programming. The motivation for them will be to use Python to create their own games using pygame and, eventually, blender3d. From what I hear, their friends will be interested in that tutorial too. ...

The definition of a component model I use below is a class which allows properties, methods, and events in a structured way which can be recognized, usually through some form of introspection outside of that class. This structured way allows visual tools to host components, and allows programmers to build applications and libraries visually in a RAD environment. The Java language has JavaBeans as its component model which allows Java...

I am trying to make a program that will basically simulate a chess clock in python. To do this I have two threads running, one that updates the currently running clock, and one that watches for a keypress. I am using the effbot Console module, and that is where I get the events for the keypresses. But when I press space it crashes shortly after. The program stops, the Console closes, and windows says that the program pythonw.exe has had an...

Hi, Just thought some people may be interested to hear that I've recently been looking at adding true concurrency into Kamaelia, by using Paul Boddie's pprocess as the core mechanism to allow us to run multiple Kamaelia systems in the same app. (Since we have thread based, and co-operative generator based components, process based is the next logical step) http://kamaelia.sourceforge.net/Home

I like to do fun stuff when learning a new language. I've been working with Python for a little while on real world problems mostly fixing bugs and writing a simulator for work. I was thinking as a hobby project developing a simple 2d game (think Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, LoadRunner) and mentioned this to my 14 year old nephew. About a week later I got a full write up for a game that he wrote and would like to play. So I figure why...

Hi, Sorry I've posted a similar question some weeks ago, but I got no answers. I want to embed a Python application on a device with limited resources, esp. storage limitations. Is there a way to reduce the Python interpreter to a set of modules that's urgently needed? Or is there a method to have gzipped modules that are unzipped on the fly into memory when they're accessed? That would be even better. Additionally, is there a Python...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
