Hi,
I've created a demo site for Microsoft Content Management Server using
Visual C#.net and I now want to create an installer for it. I've
created a set up project in VC#.net and have generated a MSI which
basically just installs the files for the demo site into a directory.
I would also like the installer to create a new website/virtual folder
in IIS and posibly import some sample data into the MCMS db. Is it
possible to do with...

Hi there
I am making a service project in C#, and I'm in the process of writing the installer. I made an installer class by using the "Add Installer" menu-item in the design window of the service, then I configured the properties of the installers
When I run InstallUtil on the executable, it fails with the following message
"An exception occurred while trying to find the installers in the c:\...\obj\debug\MyService.exe assembly...

This has worked perfectly for the past year now all the sudden it will not
compile the installer project correctly. All our source code is in a Source
Safe database so every system we do this on should be identicle. On one
system the installer project will compile correctly, but on two others it
will fail with this error.
------ Rebuild All started: Project: Installer, Configuration: Debug ------
Building file 'T:\Current Builds...

Hi
I have a question regarding the functionality of merge modules. Since this
relates to my previous queries, I'll just give you a brief background on the
topic. I had to make an installer for an application which was to share dlls
with another application and these dlls were not self-registering. Someone on
the forum suggested a few methods for the Visual studio installer, but since
I had been using another software, a certain...

Hi,
I have written an App in vb.Net (2003) which references Excel 2000. This
creates a Interop_Excel.dll which I need to reference in my project. All OK
so far.
I had to modify the Interop_Excel.dll and renamed it tm_Interop_Excel.dll
after modification. This new dll has a strong name and all the correct
attributes.
If I create a deployment project for my app, the tm_Interop_excel.dll is

Hi All!
I've been developing an ASP.Net 2.0 web application using the Visual
Studio 2005 tools. Currently datagrids on a page are filled with data
from a dataset (a .xsd file in the "project") that, in turn, gets the
data from MySql server.
Locally testing it on my PC (Windows XP SP2, FYI) it works and no
errors appear. However, when I upload it to the webserver (Windows 2003
Web Edit. Server) I get the a parser error on the dataset...

Hi All !
Sorry for my crossposting, I am not completely sure about which group is
really of any help. I started using the WUA COM
API from C#. I created an interop assembly and my code compiles fine and
the most parts are running as expected.
I first create a UpdateSession object and look for updates, which are
downloaded. Then I create an UpdateInstaller, but this fails:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
