Hi, I am looking for a free 3D visualization software, running in Linux, and able to visualize 3D functions in nonstructured mesh (basically, my mesh is a set of thetraheders used for some 3D FE computations). Can anyone confirm that indeed MayaVi can visualize 3D functions in nonstructured mesh? I went through the manuals but I didn't find that MayVi can do so.

Hi, This might be off topic a little. In using gdb to debug my code I can not use "print" command to examine the value, gdb returns me "incomplete type". But "ptype ClassName" does return me a brief description of the class. So it makes me think the symbol table is somehow not correct. Now I wonder how to check the symbol table? I know a util called,nm. But it only list the symbol names in some strange way. I wonder if somehow I can...

Hi, We are porting C++ applications from 32 bit to 64 bit on AIX platform. (The current version of AIX is 5.3 and xlC verison is 8.0). We are able to compile the applications by including the -q64 option in xlC compiler. But, when we link all these libraries to one of the main applications, we are getting the following errors: ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol: .FxCharFile::good() const ld: 0711-317 ERROR: Undefined symbol:...

Hi, I have several Xml schemas that I like to visualize in some sort of tree view (so it's possible to expand and collapse different nodes in the schema). I also have to make it possible to select a single element in a node so I need a checkbox (or a click event on the element) to handle this. When fished I'd like to show a schema and to make it possible to select an element and have the name of this element saved in a database.

This is for a class assignment, and I need some help getting my head wrapped around the problem. The problem is to create a symbol table for a c++ program. I know what a symbol table is, but figuring out how to create one is my difficulty. The only way I can think to create a symbol table is to have a list of valid keywords which I then use to search through the source code. This would enable me to find the declarations of variables,...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
