My Access 2000 code has been running for several years in our main
plant. Now we need to install it, as a stand-along application, at
remote sites, some of which are out of state.
My problem is the printer destination for special reports such as
stickers and mailing labels. The Mailing Label report is, of course,
designed here for a specific printer (Mailing Label). At another site,
the name could be completely different. Other than...

I've got a dot matrix printer that I need to print a line at a time to.
This is being used for an audit log on an application and every event
that occurs needs to print out right as it occurs.
I've previously had this working well in a serial communication method
where I talk directly to the printer using control codes and what not.
However, it seems that the higher ups want to be able to use a network
printer or other Windows-configured...

Hello:
I would like to create my own printer driver so that it is available in all
applications through the file ->Print menu of applications.
The driver will essentially take the contents of what is in the parent
application and save it so file (like a file - save as).
I will do some information processing when the printer driver is called so I
will need it to open a form (like other drivers do).
I am reading about pdd files and I see a...

Hi
I'm developing a POS software using an Epson TM-T88iii printer with a
cash drawer connected to the printer. The printer is connected via a usb
interface to the pc.
Can anyone tell me how I can open the cash drawer from my VB.NET
application? The printer driver requires me to use a soft font named
"control" in the printer, and print the letter "A", but if I'm right,
the .NET framework does not support using soft fonts...

I send a job to the label printer it just outputs an empty label. If I change
the default printer back to the standard printer(HP LaserJet), it prints
fine. Has anyone worked with Label printers like this. Here is the code I'm
using:
Private Sub cmdPrint_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArgs) Handles cmdPrint.Click

I did try to find the answer to this before posting, so this isn't a
knee jerk reaction.
What I am trying to accomplish is to have a script that opens a
cookie, reads a value, and then use a switch/case to take action based
on that value in the cookie. I want to set the cookie manually, so I
don't need setcookie(). I see that in PHP it stores the cookie in
memory. Is there a way to have PHP just read a cookie from the desktop
machine?...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
