splitting Tkinter gui into several files

My Tkinter app's gui file grew to the point that i wanted to split it
into several files: menus.py, mainFrame,py, buttons.py, etc. Of
course, when i moved the menu code into its own file, then did "import
menus" in the main gui file, it died because of references in the
menus file to stuff in the main gui file. What's the right way, or the
cleanest way, to split up my main gui file into its several conceptual
component files?

tia,
Eric

As you add more items, say text lines, in Text widget, it gets too slow and almost impractical to use on. Take idle for example. If the text gets bigger(e.g. print urllib.urlopen('http://www.amazon.com').read() ), it becomes too sluggish to use as an "interactive" shell. I have tried wxPython and it seems to have the same problem (from my experience using PyCrust). Is there any way to speed up Text widget, or should I look for another

I need to create image files (eg bmp or jpeg) of xy scatter graphs (i.e., graphs in which markers denote individual points; the markers need to be small polygons of various sizes, shapes, colors, shadings, etc. and there are thousands on them on each graph). Have been using MS Excel, but its limitations are unbelievable (only whole number sizes, no way around a 56 color palette, only low quality jpeg files so that when I publish the...

Hello: Below I have included a stripped down version of the GUI I am working on. It contains 2 dialog boxes - one main and one settings. It has the following problems, probably all related, that I am hoping someone knows what I am doing wrong: 1) Pressing the Settings.. Button multiple times, brings up many instances of the Settings Panel. I just want it to bring up one. Is there an easy way to do that?

Hello world, I tried looking everywhere for a decent Tkinter GUI builder and the closest I got to finding one before being horrified from looking at the source was vtcl @ http://vtcl.sourceforge.net. The next closest thing was page @ http://page.sourceforge.net/ Page just didn't cut it for me and I got several errors from it whereas vtcl was almost a dream come true. it was not only perfect but I had a full fledged gui design up and...

I'm not sure how often members of this list visit the Tkinter wiki at http://tkinter.unpythonic.net/wiki/FrontPage; this wiki seems to have less traffic in general than the Tcl/Tk wiki at http://wiki.tcl.tk. Given that, I hope it's not out of line for me to call attention to several pages that I've posted about integrating Tile (http://tktable.sourceforge.net/tile) and TableList (http://www.nemethi.de, http://wiki.tcl.tk/5527) into...

Hi, I'm in the process of writing some code and noticed a strange problem while doing so. I'm working with PythonWin 210 built for Python 2.5. I noticed the problem for the last py file processed by this script, where the concerned tmp file is only actually written to when PythonWin is closed. In other words, after I run this script, one of the generated tmp files has a size of 0kB. I then close PythonWin and it is then written to.

Hi, One of my python program needs tkinter to be installed to run successfully. I am using Redhat 9.0 and hence tried installing by copying the tkinter-2.2.2-36.i386.rpm alone from the CD 3 to my pc. But, it is not getting installed and is failing by throwing the below errors. Should i need to configure / install any specific files for resolving this issue ?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
