Hi,
I'm using a library in python which was generated by SWIG. Basically,
there is a struct in the C code, but I'm not sure what it is
equivalent to in the python code. I want to pass a pointer to some
data as an argument to a function like so:
comedi_data_rea d(it,subdev,cha n,range,aref,da ta)
but get this error
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "test_comedi2.p y", line 14, in ?
comedi_data_rea d(it,subdev,cha n,range,aref, data)
TypeError: Type error. Expected _p_lsampl_t
So I'm wondering if anyone knows where stucts go in SWIG and how to
alloc one in python?
Thanks!

Hi, I'm using Python in my win32 app by linking to the python23.dll.
I'm trying to expose some c++ code in my app to Python so I can make
application calls from Python scripts (according to the Python windows
FAQ I shouldn't have to make a seperate dll, see link below). I
create a MyModule.i file for swig which contains a simple test c++
class. I run swig on it with the following options: swig -python -c++
-includeall -shadow MyModule.i,...

Hi
I have a C function that builds a list of null terminated strings:
void buildStringList(char **asStrings, int n);
The number of elements in the list is given in input.
I'd like to have this function available in Python.
I use SWIG but I'm a complete newbie with it.
I've only found an example to convert a Python list to C char**

Hi,
I´m looking for some benchmarks comparing SWIG generated modules with
modules made directly with C/Python API. Just how much overhead does
SWIG give? Doing profile of my code I see, that it spends quiet some
time in functions like _swig_setattr_nondinamic, _swig_setattr,
_swig_getattr.

I'm trying to map a security_context_t ** to a python list. After
calling the method that returns this type when I process the returned
list in a for loop I get:
TypeError: expected string or Unicode object, NoneType found

wrong? Do I need to do something else to the list to somehow terminate
it?

I have a bit of a odd arrangement here with SWIG, Python, Embedded Python and
C++ classes exported into Python. Here's the plot:
I have a class defined in a C++ DLL library. I am wrapping this class (we'll
call it "Peter") with SWIG so some of its base functionality is available in
Python. For the sake of this example, Peter has a method called get_type(),
that takes no arguments and returns an integer. This all works, and within my...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
