Anyone have any experience or pointers to how to go about creating a parser lexer for assemble in Python. I was thinking of using PLY but wonder whether it's too heavyweight for what I want. Anyone have any thoughts? -- Simon Foster Somewhere in the West of England

Question: Is there a way to unfold a Python class *without* unfolding all its methods etc. so that you can get a quick overview of the class? Details: I normally open a file either with 'fold.on.open=1' set in the user's options file resp. I use 'toggle all folds' from

I want to increase the number of files I can have open in the SciTE editor. The SciTEDoc.html document says to change the number of buffers in a file called SciTE.properties, but it doesn't say specifically how to specify this. So I tried putting this in the properties file: buffers=5 It didn't work. Maybe I need to qualify it in some way, like sys.buffers=5. Does anyone know about this?

I just figured out a reasonably decent way to use pdb in SciTE for debugging Python scripts. Debugging takes place in the SciTE output window. I have only tested this with SciTE on Windows. Here are the pieces you need: 1. Create a debug.py script file (I save this in c:\usr\python\scripts): import sys from pdb import pm, set_trace

This is technically off-topic, but scite/scinitilla seems to have a particular connection to the Python community. I just tried scite for the first time and rather like it. It uses GTK, which is shared with my desktop (XFCE) so it starts up fast. It's fairly lean (at least by Emacs/Gnome/KDE standards), but I don't think I can un-learn emacs keybindings. Are emacs keybindings availble for scite somehow?

Is it possible to set Python as the default language in SciTE? Not all my python scripts have the .py extension, only the to_be_imported ones. And I use SciTE only for Python. e. -- Egbert Bouwman - Keizersgracht 197 II - 1016 DS Amsterdam - 020 6257991 ========================================================================

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
