Is there a way to do this in a professional manner?
For now I only can think of having all strings in a file, read them into
a dict at startup and then access them like so:
print str(MyTextDict( 'e', "errorOnDbStore "))
or
print str(MyTextDict( 'f', MyTextDict._Err orKey_ErrorOnDb Store))
Is it this or is there a "more Pythonic" way?
Kind regards

P.S.: I'm on Windows and use wxPython for the GUI part. I intend to be
able to select the language in an INI file before starting the app. 3 1382

wxPython has functionality in place for i18n (propably similar to what
gettext does, which means it involves .po files - which are message
catalogs). Look at the chapter "internationali zation" in the wxWidgets
documentation, its under "Topics Overview".

Thank you, Michel and Vincent,
I went for the gettext module - a very comfortable way to manage multilang
strings, indeed.
Kind regards

When I start a py2exe-ed application I get the error
'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xe9' in position 10: ordinal not in

This is how I run py2exe:

.. Can you define the Character Set for particular tables instead of
databases?
. Which DBMSs would let you do that?
. How do you store in a DBMS i18n'ed users' from input, coming over
the web (basically from everywhere) store it and properly serve it
back to users, . . .?
. Can you point me to info on this?
I would preferably use Java/JDBC drivers.

The english word "Initialized" exists. (Cambridge dictionary finds it).
The word "Uninitialized" doesn't seem to exist, and no dictionary
has it. I am using that word very often in my tutorial of the C language
with
"uninitialized memory".
Word flags this as a spelling error and tells me that the correct spelling

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
