I have a Word template that is set to merge with our client database. After
I run the merge, I merge to a new document, and then save the new document.
When I reopen this saved document, it prompts Access to open and request
information from the underlying query. Since I've already merged and saved
the new document with the merged info, I don't want Word to prompt Access
anymore. How to I "sever" the connection between Word and Access?

Hello,
I have an Access XP database that has attachments to a BE database that has
a password. The attachments work fine, until I run some code that modifies
a BE table (adding a field). I do this by running code similar the
following;
Public varDb as DAO.database
sub ConnectBEDatabase(strLocation as string)
Set varDb = OpenDatabase(strLocation, False, False, ";pwd=" &

I am searching for a way to solve this problem (the below post) too.
Anyone may help?
I get the same error, at the Connect() line. Even i've added the ASPNET
account to the fax's security tab. (in the printers and faxes control
panel page.)

I've read the page life cycle thing in msdn, still, i'm getting a bit
confused of thinking how all the things are going under the hood...
I know that when page loading, that the controls' properties is
populated and when page unloading, the resources are cleared.
What I want to know is what's happening behind it, that is, from the
perspective of the asp.net implementor.....I'm not sure whether i've
stated clearly, hope you get it.

As a relative new comer to Python, I haven't done a heck of a lot of
hacking around with it. I had my first run in with Python's quirky (to
me at least) tendency to assign by reference rather than by value (I'm
coming from a VBA world so that's the terminology I'm using). I was
surprised that these two cases behave so differently
test = ,]
x = test
x = 5

Currently I have a button that allows the user to "Close Company" - at
the moment it doesn't do anything :D I would like the button to
"disconnect" the back end then show my Open Company form.
My question is:
1. Short of closing the application or deleting the linked tables, is
there a way to disconnect the user's front end from the common back
end using VBA?
2. Does disconnecting the user serve any purpose? I've read a lot of
posts...

I added a temporary column to a database and want to delete it after I am finished with it. However, I cannot remove the column while it is still bound to a variable.
I tried $sth->finish() but that didnt do anything
$dbh->disconnect() works but I have to reconnect before I can remove the column. Google seems to indicate there is no unbind. The following code snippet works. Note: TestSource("NEW") does a connect to the "new" database...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
