I have designed an application which uses the Crystal Reports 8.5 ActiveX to show a report as a PDF. The report is compiled from a SQL database populated through web forms programmed in ASP. When the Active X is lauched, a PDF is pushed as a stream to Internet Explorer, which calls the Acrobat Reader plugin to view it. When some of my users click on the Back button to get out of the PDF report,

A work colleague circulated this interesting article about reducing software bugs by orders of magnitude: http://www.spectrum.ieee.org/WEBONLY/publicfeature/sep05/0905ext.html Some methods they talk about include removing error prone and ambiguous expressions from their ADA based language Sparc - The example they give is on why they removed the increment operators x++, x-- . A bit of googling shows that they have, in the past mentioned...

Hi, all. In 1998, I graduated from Computer Science Dept. in a university in China. Since then, I've been using C Language for almost 6 years. Although I'm using C++ in my current job, I'm also interested in understanding C more and deeper at the same time. In the past half year, I decide to improve myself on C, read some books on C and digest some posts on comp.lang.c and comp.lang.c++. Now, I feel I have a better insight on C than...

Hi everyone Has anyone got the least experience in integrating the Digital Signature with an ASP.NET Web Application? Here in Denmark, as I supose in many other countries, they're promoting the digital signature. A lot of people already has one, to do their taxes, and much more. I have to use for a business-to-business e-commerce solution, where it's vital that the right user is being logged on, and not give his username and password...

Hello, This is NOT a troll, it's a genuine question. Please read right through to see why. I have been using Vusual Basic and Classic ASP for some years, and have now started looking at ASP.NET. At first glance, it looks excellent, albeit nothing that couldn't have been done to Classic ASP. I have been through a few tutorials and was impressed with how quickly you can get database info onto a page.

I have a page where the user can make changes to some DB stuff. It's not saved until they hit the save button. I'd like to have it so that if they attempt to navigate somewhere else, I give them a warning (and preferably the ability to stop them) if they don't want to lose their changes. In other words - an 'Are you sure you want to do this?' message box. Can anybody help me on how to do this? TIA - J.

Okay, so I need to write this program that first declares an array and inputs the number of each snake present on a plane (there are 5 diff. snakes). Next, it must print out the number of each snake: "The number of snakes in element 1 is: 7." I also need to make sure that no snakes escape the cart they are stored on on the plane. To keep them contained, the combined weight of the number of carryon pieces in front of the cart door must be great...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
