Recently I replaced Win2k with Linux on my desktop computer. Using mostly
multi-platform software I thought this would be easy. It was not as
easy as expected getting wxPython to work. There seemed to be no SuSE RPM
so I installed from source. Here are my steps (gtk 2.4 was already
installed):
- Built wxWidgets (.configure --enable-unicode)
- Built wxPython (python setup.py install)
error: "you should use wx-config program for...

Try to run wxPython 2.5 (for python 2.3) demo. Then Open Process and
Events/Process. Type in "python -u demo.py" and wait. There is a splash
screen but nothing more. Why?

I'm using WinXP (Finnish), Python 2.4.1 (#65, Mar 30 2005, 09:13:57) on win32 and wxPython 2.6.0.1.
When I go to the Process and Events section in the wxDemo and run the
Process demo, bad things can happen. It crashes. I think the crash is
caused by characters outside the basic ASCII range, but I haven't tested
it in detail.
This is reproducible on my system:
Start Wxdemo. Go to Process and Events and choose Process item.

Hi,
I wrote a small app using wxPython on a Linux distro called Ubuntu (it
is a debain derivative). I ran it on windows and it just worked
perfectly. Now, when I am trying to install the same app on a different
Linux Distro (Red Hat Linux) I cannot get it to work. This Red Hat
variant is a customized version of Red Hat of a Company where I work.
It uses python 2.3.4.
I installed wxPython and other dependencies mentioned on...

If there is a wxPython on Debian user in the house? I am using the
version of the demo that came with the apt-get download of wxPython.
I thought I'd followed the instructions for installing and unpacking
the wxPython demo program. It appears to run after a fashion, but I
also get this at the commandline.
Any help much appreciated.

Hello,
I am new (very) to Python and have just down loaded the latest version
of Python (2.5) and WXPython (2.8).
For some reason I cannot get the WXPython demo to run at all. I run
windows XP and it can't find a program to run the demo. Any advice?
(apologies if this has been posted before).

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
