Hello,
Is there a quick way to replace the content of a single item in
tkinter's listbox? Currently my solution is to first delete the item,
then insert a new item at the same position. I think there may be
better way.

I've got a listbox that holds a list of groups. Users can
select a group, hit the remove button and the group
should be removed from the listbox. The only problem is
that no matter which group you select, the first one in
the listbox is always removed.(The listitem with an index
of 0. Box is set to single selection mode) I've looked at
multiple examples and they all do it this way. What's
wrong? (variables are also being set to the values...

Our app uses embedded Python to allow users to run arbitrary scripts.
Scripts that import Tkinter run fine on Windows, but on Mac OS X there
is a serious problem. After a script does "root = Tk()" our app's menus
are permanently changed in the following way:
- The top item in the application menu changes to "About Tcl & Tk...".
- The Quit item is disabled.
- The File and Edit menus are completely replaced.
- All further menus (except...

I am binding a DropDownList with records existing in a database table.
I want to add an extra item *SELECT COMPANY* at index 0 so that by
default, it gets selected. This is how I tried it but the extra item
just doesn't get added to the DropDownList:

<script runat="server">
Sub Page_Load(..........)
Dim dSet As DataSet

I will give a simplified example of the problem at hand --
I have a case in which I have two listboxes - listbox1 and listbox2,
if I click on an item in listbox1 the item gets highlighted as
expected. Now if I click on an item in listbox2 the selected item in
listbox1 loses its highlight. My question is how do I keep the
listbox1 item from losing its highlight if I select an item in
listbox2 or to that matter any other widget.
Thanks

Hi,
I have developed a GUI using tkinter (grid geometory manager).
The structure is a top frame containing multiple subframes. Each
subframe has a combination of widgets like(Entry, label,
button, listboxes). The subframes are placed with a padx and pady
offset with regards to the other subframes. And the widgets within
these subframes have their own padx and pady offsets. The GUI runs
fine on my linux box, but on a different linux box...

Hello,
I have a form with various controls but to simplify the problem let’s say I have 2 listboxes. The selection in listbox1 controls RowSource of the listbox2. For example lstCars contains car models, if I select car model X then lstColors should give me available colors for that particular model. The problem is if I select car model X in lstCars, I want the first color in lstColors to be selected by default.
Here is a sample code:...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
