Tkinter tree widget and multiple items selection

Hi!

Have anyone ever tried to modify the Gene Cash's Tkinter tree widget
(available from http://home.cfl.rr.com/genecash/) so it supports
multiple items selection ( selection of multiple files like in Windows
Explorer - CTRL and SHIFT keys for file selection)?

Thank you in advance for any hints!

Best Wishes,

Niki

I'm trying to make a custom entry widget, as in the code that follows. There are two problems I'm trying to fix: 1) I would like the widget to behave as myEntry.Escape() does now, except that it happens on loss of focus, not when pressing Esc. 2) TABbing between multiple entry fields does undesired things with the selection, and with cursor placement. Can anyone offer any suggestions for how to fix this? I'm attemting to

I would like to link the contents of three OptionMenu lists. When I select an item from the first list (call it continents), the contents of the 2nd list (call it countries) would update. And in turn the contents of the 3rd list (call it states would be updated by a change in the 2nd list. If anyone can share a recipe or some ideas, I'd be grateful! Here's some sample code that displays three OptionMenus, but doesn't update the list...

Or maybe someone knows the tree component available to download that supports multiple items selections? Then I will be able to take a look at the code and see how the multiple...

I was looking at the Tcl/Tk sourceforge page and found that there were a couple of new widgets being produced for Tcl 8.5. Does anyone know if there are any Tkinter wrappers somewhere? thanks, Harlin

Hi there, I've got a tree control in Tkinter (using the ESRF Tree module) but I can't get it to layout how I want it. I'd like to have it so that it streches north/south (anchored to the top and bottom), is of a fixed width and is anchored to the left hand side. Here's my code (its derived from one of the examples from the ESRF web site):

Hi, Armed with Programming Python 3rd Edition and Learning Python 2nd edition I try to write an application which I at first thought was simple, at least until I was finished with the GUI and then wanted to start putting some data into it. As you will see, the program is not yet finished but I post what I have so far.

I'm a Tcl/Tk developer who has been working, slowly, at learning Python, in part because Python has better support for certain kinds of applications that I want to develop than Tcl/Tk does. Naturally, I thought that I would use Tkinter as the GUI for these programs. However, in doing research into GUI development techniques, sample code, and showcase applications, what has struck me is how little sophisticated GUI development seems to be...

Hi, I'm in the process of writing some code and noticed a strange problem while doing so. I'm working with PythonWin 210 built for Python 2.5. I noticed the problem for the last py file processed by this script, where the concerned tmp file is only actually written to when PythonWin is closed. In other words, after I run this script, one of the generated tmp files has a size of 0kB. I then close PythonWin and it is then written to.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
