As far as I can tell, both maintainers of the Windows builds of
Python-LDAP haven't updated in about a year. This doesn't exactly
make the builds ancient or obsolete, but it would be nice to start
fresh with the latest version.
I've tried without success in building it myself. The hardest part is
simply that Python-LDAP is dependent on at LEAST two other projects --
OpenLDAP and Cyrus SASL. This increases the difficulty three-fold.

I finally figured out why one of my apps sometimes fails under
Win32 when it always works fine under Linux: Under Win32, the
pickle module only works with a subset of floating point
values. In particular the if you try to dump/load an infinity
or nan value, the load operation chokes:
Under Linux:

From the documentation, it looks like DParser-python will do what I
need, but I'm having trouble getting it installed properly. I'm using a
win32 environment, with official 2.4 Python binaries.
The official DParser for Python win32 binaries
(staff.washington.edu/sabbey/dy_parser) fail, saying that I don't have
Python 2.3 installed. :/
Compling the source on cygwin (with -mno-cygwin) succeeds in
compilation, but then attempting to...

Greetings,
I'm working on a project that requires the use of trackbar.
So far so good, but I want to add that look of Windows Media Player
Graphic Equalizer.
Does anyone knwo how it's implemented? I'd like to add both variations,
the one smoothly and the other more sharply in addition to the standard
behaviour (each trackbar moves disconnected from the others.

Hi,
I must be going nutty, but I can't seem to find anywhere where I can
get just the binaries for, say, 2.3.5 for win32. I've googled high and
low and all I come up with is installer (MSI/EXE) binaries and the
source code. They have to be somewhere. I cant be the only person
that doesn't want it wrapped in an installer. If I search "win32
python binary" I get about nine thousand results pointing to Mark
Hammond's win32 Python page...

Hi all,
When using Python 2.4.x on a Win32 box,
marshal.loads(marshal.dumps(1e66666)) returns 1.0 instead of infinity
as it should and does under Python 2.5 (also running on Win32 ).
This problem was reported in another thread here by Peter Hansen

Is this considered an important enough...

Hi!
I'm currently working on a scientific computation software built in
python.
What I want to implement is a Matlab style command window <->
workspace interaction.
For example, you type 'a=1' in the command window, and you see a list
item named 'a' in the workspace.
You double click the icon of the item, and you see its value. You can

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
