Hi,
I am an artist who creates interactive video installations that are
controlled using a set of sensors, a microcontroller, computer and
video projector. Currently I am using MAX/MSP and Jitter to program
how information collected from the sensors then is used to manipulate
pre-recorded video footage.
I have been investigating Python as an alternative to using
MAX/MSP/Jitter to program the collection of information from the
sensors...

Is there a video module so that I can write a Linux Python script to
record video coming over USB video cams?
What about these side-thoughts:
* What about recording multiple streams over multiple USB ports? (Think
in the context of a security system.)
* What about lossy compression?

Hi all,
for a realtime simulation of a video installation we want to
use Quicktime to read video data from a file or stream and
process the data in a realtime Gameblender model.
We are trying to simulate a large-scale, low resolution media
facade using individuell video pixels to control lamps mounted
into the facade.

Hi,
I need to develop an application that displays video 640x480 16-bit per
pixel with 30 fps.
I would prefer to do that with Python (wxPython) but don't have any
experience whether it is possible to achieve that frame rate and still
have some resources for other processing left? My development PC would
be a Celeron 1 GHz. The final system could be a faster system.

Using VS2003, VB.NET,
BACKGROUND
I have a window forms based application that will be distributed and
executed directly from CD media. The app contains a TreeView control and a
WebBroswer (AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowse) control. The TreeView is populated with
nodes that when clicked play an audio clip that is stored on the CD and
navigate the browser control to a specified web URL (also stored on the CD).
All the web URLs are html documents...

Hello all,
I have a Linksys WVC54GC network camera that I am trying
to integrate into a website and to enable browsers
other than IE to use.
Linksys, in their ever-short-sighted ways, decided to make
this device only compatible with IE. It requires IE and
ActiveX. However, you can access the video stream directly
with the following URL http://1.2.3.4/img/video.asf

Hi,
Two questions for you all..
Firstly, is there a way of streaming video using PHP? At the moment I just
have a link to a video file and the whole thing downloads before playing
which is a bit of a chore as the video file is pretty huge.
Secondly, I want to restrict access to the video using a password. Can
anyone think of a nice way of doing this? I thought about having the video

I want to play Audio/Video in my C# application(standlalone, not web
applicatoin). The source of multimedia may in different formats and decided
by the end user, which I have no control.
My question is -- which is the best approach to add multimedia capability to
my c# application, to support most possible formats, and make it easiest for
the end user(e.g. does not need convert before play it)?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
