Hi,
I've been reading the <a href="http://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html">Google WebMaster
Guidelines. Google urges web developers to make use of the If-Modified-Since http header with an
emphasis on saving bandwidth and overhead.
How do I use this header in ASP.NET? Is it there by default or must I explicitly place it in the
Headers collection? How would I inform the GoogleBot of this information?

I have a Windows form that displays a database table in a DataGrid. When you
click on a row, the row's values get copied to bound TextBoxes below, and
when the "Save" button is clicked the database is updated (as is the DataGrid
row) with changed values in the TextBoxes. Here are some observations:

It's important that I can read the contents of the dict without
flagging it as modified, but I want it to set the flag the moment I add
a new element or alter an existing one (the values in the dict are
mutable), this is what makes it difficult. Because the values are
mutable I don't think you can tell the difference between a read and a
write without making some sort of wrapper around them.
Still, I'd love to hear how you guys would do...

I've updated my test server to handle if-modified-since. I've noticed
that the (old copies I run of) IE and Netscape seem never to send
if-modified-since. But the strange thing is that Opera sends
if-modified-since but when I reply with "HTTP/1.0 304 Not Modified" it
is not refreshing the screen from its cache, it is leaving the screen
blank.

I have been trying to find a way to get the Domain and UserName of the
user that last modified a file.
I know how to get the owner of the file via WMI or Win32, but I can't
find a way to get the name of the user that last modified it. Is this
possible? I am using C#.

Hi
I am trying to read the html header 'if modified since' by using
Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_IF_MODIFIED_SINCE") in classic ASP. But I am
unable to get anything from this, this variable is always empty. It is also
excluded when I try to list all the server variables. We are using IIS6.
So please can someone confirm what is the correct syntax?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
