Might this work? It does not compile but it does make beautiful
albeit, rather large .exes.
http://starship.python.net/crew/theller/py2exe/

To actually compile I guess one can use...
psyco-1.1.1-win-2.3.zip

Just my $0.02 worth.

psyco does compilation. It does not produce stand-alone executables.

Hello, Has anyone had success compiling the informixdb-1.3 module under python 2.2? It seems the absense of makefile.pre.in in python 2.2 causes the break under py2.2. Is there an easy way around this. I've heard rumors of a manual method, but have been unable to track down details. Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Mike

The good news: Along with Python-2.4 comes really good news to Windows users. Yes, you now CAN build extension modules yourself using the SAME C++ compiler and linker Python is built with itself. Everything you need is available at no costs (except download hassle and installation time). Once your system is set up properly its just a matter of running 'python setup.py build'. No longer waiting for someone else to build binaries and a...

I have been informed that Guppy-PE (http://guppy-pe.sourceforge.net) has failed to compile its extension modules with a Microsoft .NET 2003 compiler under Windows 2000. One of the problems, seems to be string constants in the C source that contain newlines. I am using GCC on Linux so, I missed this with the standard warning options. Compiling with -pedantic reveals 'a lot' of places where this is a problem.

I am new to python and I am wondering if there is a way to take a python script and turn it into an object of some kind such that the python system doesn't have to take the script and compile it down to python code every time i try to run the script in my program. I have a lot of scripts and they are getting used a lot so this is a performance question really. If anybody knows how to take the .py file and "compile" it into byte code that i...

I was wondering if anyone could help me with cross-compiling Python 2.5.1 to a MIPS target. The approach I'm using is based off the suggestion in the README file that comes with the python source distribution. I managed to get the configure script to run using the following command line: $ ../Python-2.5.1/configure --host=mips-linux --enable-shared

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
