I love this language!

I'm a complete newbie to Python and have been working the tutorials for only
about 4 days (I'm doing 'How to Think Like a Computer Scientist' right now)
but I already love this language. It's much easier for me to learn so far
than others I have tried, with the possible exception of BASIC. Anyway,
I've picked up a lot of good hints from reading the group already and I just
wanted to thank everyone that participates here for helping out.

I'm in complete agreement. I could not have but it better. I learned it
in an afternoon 3 years ago and have never gone back!

I think one could argue that python is the best and most veristile
langauge out there--easy to learn, fast to code, wide application range,
.... and cross platform too...

WOW!

I've been following the group a bit (somewhat loosely; discussions involving other languages or advanced concepts kind of lose me), and I see all this negativity (OMG Python's lambda is borken roflol, use teh othar langauge). I as a relative newcomer to Python pay little heed to the criticism, though. A few things in Python are counterintuitive, yes, but what language doesn't have such things? And I feel that one can master the syntax of...

There is an amazing article by paul graham about python, and an even better discussion about it on slashdot. The reason I point this out, is the more I read both articles, the more I realised how we would be mutilating the language with that god forsaken @ decorator. I don't know about the rest of you, but I learned python and fell in love with its syntax and simplicity. Python - just works. So please GVR. Don't complicate it. Leave it as...

I just love C! But C would be useless without the pre-processor... #define begin { #define end } #define WriteLn printf #define procedure void procedure SayHello() begin WriteLn("Hello World!");

I've only been goofing around with Python for about a month now, but already I am in love. I never get that feeling -- so common with Java -- that I'm swimming upstream, struggling to force the language to do what I want. Python makes it feel effortless and easy.

You just have to love how C++ generates errors so you can find out what you did wrong. Such as in this case... class DComponent : public DGenericNode { public: //DComponent(const DNode & node) : DGenericNode(node) {} DComponent(const DComponent & copy) : DGenericNode(copy) {}

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
