If you're trying to pass a string that has the value
' weapondescripti on'
you should put quotes around the string, or make weapondescripti on a
variable that has the value ' weapondescripti on'.

So weapondescripti on is considered the tag for " ".
Thus you could write e.g.:
insert('3.0', 'end', " ", None, weapondescripti on)

I have created 3 functions to insert, update and delete an Access
database record. The Insert and the Delete code are working fine.
The update is not. I checked and my database has all the necessary

I used bcp to produce the apended format file.
How can it be modified to recognize the quotes that surround the text
fields and not insert the quotes along with the text? Invariably, the
first four columns have text surrounded by quotes and are terminated by
tabs. If the first column has "abc", only abc ought to be inserted
into that field in the table.
