using weave with Windows

Hello,

weave could be highly usefull to me, but I can't have it work correctly
on my PC, and I can't understand the error message. Could you help me ?
I installed the latest zip package by "python setup.py install", on a
python 2.3 installation (OS = Windows ME), and here is a result when
trying it :
=============== ==========
IDLE 1.0
import weave
a = 123
weave.inline('p rintf("%d\\n",a );',['a']) Exception exceptions.Attr ibuteError: "DbfilenameShel f instance has no

raise SystemExit, "error: " + str(msg)
CompileError: error: command 'g++' failed with exit status 1

The gcc I use comes from MinGW and is version 3.2. I tried out gcc 2.95,
and it was nearly the same (error at the same place, but 'cc' was
blaimed). I tried cygwin, and it was not different. I tried python 2.2,
and the result was similar.

Any idea ?
thanks a lot for your help.

Does anyone happen to have up-to-date summary instructions for installing weave.inline ? I don't want weave.blitz, I don't want Numeric, and I don't want Scipy. According to the documentation, this is perfectly possible, but the documentation is clearly out of date, and after working around 3 documentation bugs and still not managing to install it, I'm rapidly running out of enthusiasm ... so if anyone has done this recently, I'd...

Hi, I have problems trying to install the scipy.weave package. I run Python 2.4 on windows XP and my C compiler is MinGW. Below is the output of scipy.weave.test(). I read that the tests should last several minutes, but in my case it only lasts a few seconds. Thanks in advance for any help. Julien Fiore

Hi Folks I was reading this article (http://www.dotnetbips.com/articles/displayarticle.aspx?id=32) on "Custom Attribute", written by Bipin. The only thing I did not understand in this article is the usage of "Custom Attribute" in real life project. Can somebody please help me understand where are these informations really helpful in Development Environment; may be a few example(s) will help me understand.

Hello, I'm a new scipy user, and I'm trying to speed up some array code with weave. I'm running xp with gcc from cgywin, and scipy.weave.test() returns an OK status. I'm trying to speed up the code below. I've found a couple of examples of weave on the web, and I think it should be straight forward, but I keep getting the following error when calling weave.blitz(expr). It's complaining about the variable being assigned, I've tried...

take a look at Python vs Matlab comparison for numerical computations: numerical-computing-matlab-vs-python+numpy+weave it seems that what stated in a previous thread was true! Python+Numpy results as fast as Matlab. any optimization of Numpy code run much faster than Matlab (up to 10 times faster with pyrex).

Hi, I have a strange and very annoying problem when using weave in scipy.. when I run the code below.. the first time it needs to compile.. it says <compilingand then python.exe crashes! and no result is shown.. the second time i run it, it does not compile but gives the completely wrong answer.. prints a matrix of all zeros except for point 1,1 in the matrix which seems to have some random high number like -5.39403959e+08. .... !!??

Hello. I am new to Python. It seems a very interesting language to me. Its simplicity is very attractive. However, it is usually said that Python is not a compiled but interpreted programming language —I mean, it is not like C, in that sense. I am working on my PhD Thesis, which is about Operations Research,

I know there must be a simple method to do this. I have implemented this function for calculating a checksum based on a ones complement addition: def complement_ones_checksum(ints): """ Returns a complements one checksum based on a specified numpy.array of dtype=uint16 """

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
