Usenet servers use NNTP, so I'd recommend nntplib,
<http://www.python.org/doc/current/lib/module-nntplib.html>. It
doesn't look too complicated, and there's example code in the docs.

I am looking for a script that I can sit on an HTML server (Linux, Apache, PHP/Perl/Python/Etc.) that will allow me to do the following things: 1) Post news articles that consists of (i) a title and (ii) a body. 2) Show the last X posts (or, better yet, just the last X titles) on a home page. 3) Show all posts on a "news" page. 4) When a news article is posted, email the news article (with the title being the email subject and the news...

i've started to read python tutorial recently. http://python.org/doc/2.3.4/tut/tut.html Here are some quick critique: quick example: If the input string is too long, they don't truncate it, but return it unchanged; this will mess up your column lay-out but that's usually better than the alternative, which would be lying about a value. (If you really want truncation you can always add a slice operation, as in

Heya, I'm curious to know if there are any programs that convert HTML tables to a CSS layout. I already have a good handle on CSS but I'm always on the lookout for other ways of doing things. :-) Cheers.

Operating system: Win XP Version of Python: 2.4 I recognize that this question is not about Python...it has only a tangential Python connection. I'm using a Python package to run a process; that process is issuing an error, and I'm hoping that someone on this site can point me to the site that has the appropriate expertise. Situation is this:

Sorry for all the cross posting but I'm interesting in getting a serious discussion about how usenet has become lately. Many people are moving away from usenet because of all the spam and cooks that have been showing up. The rate of spammer seem to be growing exponentially(ok, not really but it feels like it). I think maybe its time to do something about it. What I'd like to see happen is an "upgrade" to usenet. I do not like th forum...

Is there a Python library to communicate with a usenet server? I did a bit of googling and found some sites that suggest that you can roll your own fairly easily but, mostly, I got a lot of false positives with talk of Python libraries on usenet and I am really hoping this work has already done. Thank you...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
