Hi,
I am trying to create a Web Reference for CSTA using the URL
http://www.ecma-international.org/standards/ecma-348/csta-wsdl/csta-wsdl-all-operations.wsdl
Visual .Net complains that:

The document was understood, but it could not be processed.
- The WSDL document contains links that could not be resolved.
- There was an error downloading

I'm making one of my first web services (with C#) and need help
getting started.
I have received an idl file and a sdl file that describes the
interface I need to implement... but how do I generate anything from
these files? It seems like I have to convert one of the files to a
wsdl file and then use wsdl.exe??
Thanks for your help!
(I wont be back to reed your answer until monday...so no hurry! :-)

I dont have much experience with wsdl's, but I am currently producing
asmx web services, for c# dot net projects.
All the project files are stored in souresafe, including the wsdl
files.
Each time I update a project I must build and run the particular web
service then manually open and save the wsdl.
This must be done before the wsdl can be checked into ss.

We are using .Net and the wsdl Utility to generate proxies to consume
web services built using the BEA toolset.
The data architects on the BEA side create XML schemas with various
entities in separate files for ease of maintainability. These schemas
are all part of the same namespace.
When defining a web service that access more than one of these
entities, the wsdl file generated by BEA contains multiple schema
elements with the same...

Hi,
Newbie question #2 - hope that's OK!
I'm trying to create a WSDL file using one or more XSD schema files. While
WSDL.exe doesn't seem to support the XSD "import" function, if I include a
single huge XSD schema file on the command line input to WSDL.exe, I can
essentially achieve the desired result. (So, first question: is it true that
WSDL.exe does not support *any* kind of <wsdl:import ...> or <xsd:import...>
function?)

I am having a devil of a time getting WSDL.EXE to consume a WSDL file
that describes a web service (known as AXL) on a Cisco phone switch.
The WSDL file references four schemas and (I believe) two namespaces
via imports and includes. If anyone can help me look at the actual
files, I'll be more than happy to provide them. What follows is the
text of a post on a Cisco programmers forum that describes the problem
I'm having. I'm posting...

Hi all,
One of my developers is having this problem. His asmx and asmx.cs files are
good. However, when he launches the web service page in IE, he's not getting
the list of web methods. His WSDL output is always empty, the kind you get
when you add a brand new ASMX file to a project.
What's really weird is that other users don't have this problem with the
same solution (it's under source control, and we've compared files).
I even...

Web Services make use of proxy classes whose methods & properties are
accessed in exactly the same way as how a normal class' methods &
properties are accessed. So what for does ASP.NET generate proxy
classes (using WSDL) which consume more hard disk space & resources?
For e.g. consider the following code which exists in a user-defined
class file:
Imports System
Imports System.Data

I have a fairly simple structure:
- Simple Types in an XSD
- Complex Types (one file) in another XSD, importing the Simple Types
- More Complex Types (second file) in another XSD, again importing the
Simple Types
- A WSDL Definitions file, importing the two Complex Types files
- A WSDL Service file, importing the WSDL Definitions file
I have put all that together with XML Spy and that seems happy. I can also

I am trying to use a web service that publishes a WSDL with external schema
(.XSD files), unfortunately the .NET wsdl.exe is not able to generate the
proxy class for it.
It seems that wsdl.exe do not support external schemas.
What can I do?
1. I asked them to change the WSDL including the external schema no way…
2. Is there any other .NET tool that I can get for importing WSDL files with
