MemoryError: out of memory Python 2.1.3 on Windows 2000

The problem is basically in the subject line.

I am building an Intranet site based on Zope/CMF/Plone. In order to
fulfill the requirements Zope/Python must be run on Windows.

Zope is running as a Wi32 service. When the python.exe process
consume ~122MB (according to the Windows Task Manager) I start
receiving MemoryError: out of memory exceptions. I've already checked
for bad RAM and the server's RAM appears good.

Is this issue related to running python 2.1.3 on Windows 2000? Is
there anyway I can fix this problem so that python.exe will use more
than 122MB of RAM (the server has 4GB)?

Please CC: my email address with any responses.

Thanks a million!

Regards,
Andy.

Hi all, I have a Python 2.3.2 application that uses the httplib package to download files. On Windows XP only, I'm getting a MemoryError exception in the socket module when files are around 2.8 MB in size. This is on a PC with 500MB of RAM, so memory shouldn't be an issue. Here's the portion of code leading up to the error that is doing the download:

No response to my last message, so I'll try a different tack... Does anyone know of, or even better, has anyone here written a C++ application for Mac/Windows that allows users to run Python scripts from within the app? Not just once, but many times in a single session, and without leaking memory. Preferably an open source app so I can see how it's done. Our app (http://golly.sourceforge.net/) currently uses calls like these every...

Hi there, I have a script which walks a directory and calculates the md5 digest on a bunch of large files (~1G). The first file found works fine, but the second generates a MemoryError: Traceback (most recent call last): File "t2.py", line 70, in <module> walk_dirs(sys.argv) File "t2.py", line 53, in walk_dirs actual = calculate_digest(datafile) File "t2.py", line 28, in calculate_digest

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
