win32ras - compatibility across Win32 versions?

Hi there. Having done some Googling, it appears "win32ras" may be
exactly what I'm looking for - but only if it can create
connectoids/phone book entries on all desktop Win32 versions (Win9x -
WinXP).

I found a couple of posts from 2001 about it possibly working on
win9x, but I couldn't see anything since that time.

Does it do what I need it to?

Also, I'm pretty new to Python, so forgive me if this is an obvious
question, but where would I find some example scripts/resources for
win32ras?

Thanks,

Glenn

Recently people testing Boost.Python with GCC on Linux have reported that the extensions being tested have to be compiled with exactly the same version of GCC as the Python they're being loaded into, or they get mysterious crashes. That doesn't correspond to my past experience; it has always been true that, as long as the compiler used to build Python and the one used to build the extension have compatible 'C' ABIs, we've been okay. ...

Multiple database services and multiple versions on Red Hat Linux systems The way it works is that we require a specific service script for each database service (that is listening on each port). Each of these services has a init script in /etc/init.d and a corresponding configuration file in /etc/sysconfig. We use the 'chkconfig' utility to decide if each of those services will be activated on boot or not (it manipulates links under...

I have a computer with XP on it. I loaded Office 97 first because I needed Access 97 for some work. I then loaded Office 2000. Everything seemed to be running fine. But I have come across a few problems. 1) I have hyperlinks in some tables and when I try to access the hyperlinks I get an error message "An unexpected error has occurred. 2) I've been trying to do some automation through Access for MS Word using VBA code. I've been...

Hi To which degree is an MFC based dll compatible between: VC++ 2002, 2003 and 2005? We use dlls delivered by different partners and vendors and it looks like a real mess to keep track of the different versions of the VC++ .NET versions to make our application in line with the SW provided by others.

If I were to begin creating a fairly simple database, i.e. a datasheet that would include two related tables to create an encyclopedic style database and then create some fairly indepth forms to filter and query the info in the database, would there be any great advantage to upgrading from Access97 to a later version?

Hello, Likely this has been asked before... We have a library (in DLL form) that we distribute. The interface to the library is all C, but within the library it uses C++ in many places. Traditionally we've built our library with VC 6. We are considering moving to VS .NET 2003 or VS 2005. However, we'd like to retain the ability to link applications with the library when the application is still built with VC 6.

Greetings, all, I am trying to port a little bit of math code to gcc, that in the original version used the long double version of several functions (in particular, atanl, fabsl, and expl). I get a complie-time "unidentified reference" error to the expl() calls, but gcc seems to digest atanl and fabsl just fine. Changing expl to exp cures the compile time problem, but I get at best double precision in the final results. I am assuming...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
