HI all,
I came across a strange behaviour with read method, and I'm not sure if
this is a filesystem problem or a misuse of this method.
I do the simple following thing :
f = open ('myFile','r')
content = f.read()
f.close()
When I use this lines really intensively sometimes, at random the content

I have tab delimited text file which gets populated on daily basis via
automated process. New entry is written at the bottom. I need to create a
utility which makes a copy of this file with 10 most recent entries.
When I read line using StreamReader object it starts from the top, so
looping though lines and keeping track of the line is not helpful. Is there
anyway to start reading from the bottom or if anyone could suggest some other...

Hello,
I have a question.
I try to print a ascii file in reverse order( bottom-top). Here is the logic.
1. Go to the botton of the file fseek(). move one character back to avoid the EOF.
2. From here read a character, print it, move the file pointer (FILE*) to 2 steps back (using fseek(fp, -2, SEEK_CUR)) to read the previous character.
This seems to be ok if the file has a single line (i.e. no new line character). The above logic...

assumption: I am new to C and old to COBOL
I have been reading a lot (self teaching) but something is not sinking
in with respect to reading a simple file - one record at a time.
Using C, I am trying to read a flatfile. In COBOL, my simple file
layout and READ statement would look like below.
Question: what is the standard, simple coding convention for reading
in a flatfile - one record at a time?? SCANF does not work because of...

I wrote the following code to concatenate every 2 keys of a dictionary and
their corresponding values.
e.g if i have tiDict1 = tiDict1 = {'a':,'b':} i should get
tiDict2={'ab':} and similarly for dicts with larger no. of
features.
Now i want to check each pair to see if they are connected...element of
this pair will be one from the first list and one from the second....e.g
for 'ab' i want to check if 1 and 3 are connected,then 1 and...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
