Number Theory modules for Python

Hi!
I searched the Net and found several Number Theory (NT) related Python
extension modules. Some of them may be used to do some research but
unfortunately almost all promising modules disappeared from the Net, so I
wasn't able to download them. I'm sure, that it's my fault and NT packages
are actually exist and downloadable - somewhere.

Please send me any known NT related materials/URLs can be used to do NT
research.
Thanks: Complex

What do you want? What have you found?
I don't know much about comp-NT, but ,,, err Grobner bases stuff?
And everyone seems to have their own polynomial implementation,
the one in SciPy uses Numeric so it seems designed for bigishness etc.,,,
Not sure if there is any high grade algebra stuff out there for python,
let me know what you find.

I installed Python on the HP 3000 at work today. The interpreter itself appears to be working fine, but "import math", "import datetime", etc. fail with "ImportError: No module named ". (However, os and system can be imported successfully.) I used help('modules') to print a list of available modules and there were only 14 (__builtin__, _codecs, _sre, _symtable, errno, exceptions, gc, imp, marshal, posix, signal, sys, xxsubtype,...

If a compiled Python extension module B includes code from some other software A which is licensed only under the GPL, do other Python programmes, C, which import module B also need to be licensed under a GPL-compatible license (assuming C is/are to be distributed to third parties)? I think the answer is yes, both from a lay (IANAL) legal and moral point-of-view, but I am interested in hearing any arguments to the contrary. Note that I...

Hi. I just finished reading an introductory Python book called "Python Programming for the absolute beginner" by Michael Dawson. I found it very interesting, and easy to follow. Python does really look similar to C/C++ and Java. In the book, the author imported other modules that were from the standard library of Python. I tried reading some of the modules in the standard library in Python's Lib folder. I'm just a beginner to Python, and didn't...

Hello, at the moment python-dev is discussing including Jason Orendorff's path module into the standard library. Do you have any other good and valued Python modules that you would think are bug-free, mature (that includes a long release distance) and useful enough to be granted a place in the stdlib? For my part, ctypes seems like a suggestion to start with.

I have a package of python modules deployed on an NFS mount on my network that I use for sysadmin tools. Since some of the machines use different versions of python I've only put the .py files in the mounted share. However, I'm getting ImportError: Bad Magic Number when I try to load any of the modules from the mount point. All the discussions I can find say that a bad magic number should only occur with a mismatched interpreter and...

I'm just beginning to create some python modules for my own use and I'm wondering where to put them. Initially I have put them in $HOME/bin and I have set PYTHONPATH to point to them there. It all seems to be OK but I was wondering if I might be storing up problems for the future by putting python modules in with my odds and sods of shell scripts etc. (and with my python 'main' scripts). Would I be better off putting the modules...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
