Hi. I'm a new user of Python but I have noted a little problem. Python is a very good language but it is evolving, in particular its library is evolving. This can be a problem when, ad example, a module change its interface or its implementation in a fundamental way (an example: wxPython). This, I think, can be resolved by allowing an user to explicitly say what version of a module it wants (sush as version numbers in Linux shared...

All, I'm reading a book by Charles Petzold (Programming VS.Net). Pretty good content but am confused about the difference. From the text: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The @ Import Directive Next to @ Page, the directive that ASP.NET programmers use the most is @ Import. The @ Import directive is ASP.NET's...

I have run into a problem when trying to import a WSDL reference under VS 2003 and 1.1 of the framework. It appears as if it is in the generation of the proxy that things are failing. When I add the reference, I get the following error: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\WebServices\samples\WSDL\dotnet\OblixSampleForDotNetWSDL\Web References\localhost\Reference.map(1): Custom tool error: Unable to import WebService/Schema. A schema with the namespace...

Here's a heretical idea. I'd like a way to import modules at the point where I need the functionality, rather than remember to import ahead of time. This might eliminate a step in my coding process. Currently, my process is I change code and later scan my changes to make matching changes to the import statements. The scan step is error prone and time consuming. By importing inline, I'd be able to change code without the extra scan...

I need to import multiple tab delimited files for which I do not have the formats. All files have column headers in the the line. The files must be dynamic. The only common value is that the files are text and use tabs to delimit the column data. I can not use the File/Import as people using the program do not have the necessary experience to perform this function. Therefore, I need to programtically create unique tables for each...

I'm using Python for what is becoming a sizeable project and I'm already running into problems organizing code and importing packages. I feel like the Python package system, in particular the isomorphism between filesystem and namespace, doesn't seem very well suited for big projects. However, I might not really understand the Pythonic way. I'm not sure if I have a specific question here, just a general plea for advice. 1) Namespace....

Hi all, My company does things in a very specific way. Meaning we never query the database directly, we always use Stored Procedures. What i would like is to develop one data provider class for database communication that can easily be added onto as time goes buy. At the moment it needs to be able to import into SQL and Oracle, but in the future DB2 and some others.

I am trying to use a webservice with SOAPpy: import SOAPpy intact_wsdl = "http://www.ebi.ac.uk/intact/binary-search-ws/binarysearch?wsdl" intact_serv = SOAPpy.WSDL.Proxy(intact_wsdl) The resulting error message is posted below. If I understand it right, XMLSchema.py complains about the imported XSD namespace being the same as the existing targetNamespace.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
