I've encountered an issue dealing with strings read from files. I
read a line from a file, then try to print it out as an ASCII string:
line = fp.readline()
print line.encode('US-ASCII', 'replace')
and of course I get an error like:

Hi!
I want to read with C# some binary file with well defined binary structure.
In C++ I was declaring appropriate struct, like:
typedef struct {BYTE b1; WORD w1, w2; DWORD dw1} REKORD1;
REKORD1 buff ;
and then read record from file with
read (file, (void *) &buff, sizeof (REKORD1));

Hello and thanks in advance to anyone who offers help.
To make this simple, let's say I have a game which has 100 different
monsters. I want a binary data file to hold all of these. It would
have the index number of the mob, name, size, attributes, etc. I can
easily create an editor to edit the records in this file, as soon as
I know how to create this file and be able to find a specific monster
in the file and fill, say, text boxes...

Hi,
I'm trying to write a function taking an "flagged" enum as parameter. The
function should then loop through the enum and do some stuff for each flag
that are set. Below is some sample code showing what I'm trying to do. The
problem is in the line:
if (val->GetValue(i) & it)
as there is no binary and operator on the object returned by GetValue. I've

Hi!
My second post, very similar to the first one.
I just mounted a debian server and start to run some few scripts. They "seem" to run, but sometimes (5% of times) I am getting this error message:
/home/jmd/sh/muestras.sh: line 2:
Note that R0220444 is one of the files in /home/as400/muestras folder.
This is /home/jmd/sh/muestras.sh:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
