I have a situation where I want to take data from a local sql server
2000 db and update a remote database. I have the sql all set, was
wondering if this can be done in a timed interval with a stored
procedure on the local db.
Thanks in advance for your time

Hello:
I'm doing some planning on a potential project with which I need
some help. The database at the focus of this question is a
MS Access database that is currently accessed by DAO from a local
webserver. I need to access the same database remotely through
TCP/IP. There will be potentially many transactions coming from
both the web server and remotely, so the solution needs to keep
the data safe in such an environment. However,...

Is it possible to call a remote php script from within Access? I'm thinking
something like:
DoCMD... http://www.domain.com/scripts/dataquery.php
DoCmd.OpenQuery "update_data", acNormal, acEdit
.....
So the PHP script does something on the server database, then when a linked
table is viewed within access, the data changes have been made?

Hi,
is it possible to create remote virtual tables in mysql? By that I mean
if it is possible to define a table, which actually resides on a remote
mysql server, but which can be accessed and addressed as if the table
would be on the local database.
My intention is to move one table to a remote host, but to be able to
address the table as if it was still on the same machine.

base = MySQLdb.connect(host="localhost", user="blah", passwd="blah",
db="test_py")
cursor = base.cursor()
cursor.execute("INSERT INTO table (field) VALUES (int)")

I am attempting to set up myODBC 3.51 on Win XP Pro to a remote MySQL Linux server. I get the following error:
Access denied for user: 'username@ipaddress.serviceprovider.net' (Using password: YES)
I had MySQL installed locally for testing, and myODBC worked fine. All the other apps I use locally (Dreamweaver, PHPmyAdmin, MySQL Front) work great on the remote server with the same login info.
This is my thought (patience, please). My...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
