I'm trying to create a mail server in Twisted.
I either get
SMTPSenderRefused
or
SMTPException: SMTP AUTH extension not supported by server.
What do I need to do to get it to work?

Folks,
We're implementing a software based mirroring solution. This solution
requires that the SQL Server service on the target server be stopped
while data is being replicated from the source server.
One problem we encountered while testing was that the SQL Server
Service on the target server was inadvertantly started when users
selected that server in Enterprise Manager. Is there any way to keep
the service from starting through...

Hey all,
I wrote a Windows Service. When I test it on my developement machine (winXP)
it works fine. It starts ok, never crashes, etc.
When I install the service on another machine (win2000) it *sometimes*
crashes upon starting. The progressbar you get when you manually start the
server will very slowly progress, and when it hits 100% after 2 minutes or
something I get the error 'The service could not be started because it did
not...

OK, I created my handy little windows service and created an MSI installer
using the Deployment tool in VS.net with Custom Actions according to the
msdn help.
Worked great, with one little hitch. The Service is installed and marked
for Automatic startup, but the service is not starting with windows. If i
reboot and then check the services, the service shows as Stopped, but still
marked Automatic.
Any idea?

We're using the ServiceController class provided by the .NET Framework,
programming in C#. We are using the Start() method to start a service from
another service. This works fine most of the time, but occasionally after a
system startup (where the service doing the starting of the other is
automatically started by Windows XP) the ServiceController's Start() method
fails to start the other service. It is probably throwing an...

I have a c# windows service that works fine when started manually. The
Startup type is set to automatic, yet if the machine rebotted, the service
fails to start unless I start it manually.
The service needs to have SQL Server running first and I came across this
article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3ben-us%3b193888&Product=win2000
which explains how to setup a 'DependOnService' registry value. When I try
to do this...

I recently found a link which demonstrates how to secure a xml-rpc
service with basic HTTP-auth. But this get's send in clear-text over
the net. There's also the HTTP-Digest auth mechanism which is
apparently supported as well by twisted.
How do I secure an xml-rpc service using digest-auth then?
If this works, all my troubles are suddenly gon and I am sold for
twisted ;)

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
