twisted.web's xmlrpc with digest authencitation

I recently found a link[1] which demonstrates how to secure a xml-rpc
service with basic HTTP-auth. But this get's send in clear-text over
the net. There's also the HTTP-Digest auth mechanism which is
apparently supported as well by twisted[2].

How do I secure an xml-rpc service using digest-auth then?
If this works, all my troubles are suddenly gon and I am sold for
twisted ;)

Hi all, Below this message you can see my code. It is a modified version of the twisted xml-rpc server examples. I am trying to figure out how to implement non-blocking methods. I found out that I have to use 'defer' to do that, but I have no clue how to do this. Unfortunately the documentation could not make this clear to(unless I am missing some docs). I have already added a function called xmlrpc_block to represent a actual 'blocking...

Hi, google doesn't give me anything on this, so I have to ask: I've got a xmlrpc-server running using twisted. Using the cookbook-recipe for daemonizing, it stores a file with its pid when in daemon mode. Now I want to remove that file when the server is shutdown - this boils down to the twisted reactors run()-method beeing terminated.

Hi, previously i made an application that used sockets to do some network based processing. My next app is again going to be a client/server app and i wanted to see if i can't find an easier way to make the networking going. I bumped into xmlrpclib and also twisted (pb). I'm not sure which on of these would suit my needs better. I am planning to build a web GUI for the client so if i

I was musing recently about how one could, for example, set up a really simple mailing subscription list. It occurred to me that a really simple way to implement it would be to use xmlrpc. So there could be a function subscribe(emailAddress), which would send an email for confirmation, and another function confirm(emailAddress, password) which would confirm the address ... and so on. Now, the problem is that, if you use xmlrpc, it...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
