HI,
I had a question on incremental backup.
We had an incremental backup every weekend. We did full backup every
other week. That is one week incremental + full , the other week is
incremental only. My question is for the first weekend incremental
backup, it took for example 1h, but the second weekend incremental
took almost 3 hours. It seems always this way, so I suppose it is not
related to the data change. And we almost had some...

Hi,
I try to perform an incremental backup of an entire database.
My problem: the option's for incremental backup are disabled.
OS: W2003Srv
UDB: 8.1
Any idea? Are there any parameters, which I have to set first?
Thanks in advance,
Peter

Anyone find that the backup time for incremental backup (no matter
incremental/delta) is not quite proportion to the volume of the backup?
Anyone know there is anything I can tune to improve its performance? I
suspect db2 scans the whole database before backing up the "dirty" pages.
Any idea?

Based on MK's TSI_SOON (http://www.trigeminal.com/)I've created a
nifty little procedure that - whenever you compact you db you get an
incremental backup copy.
Given that you have a table with version information you get
incremental backups on a per-version basis.
SEE CODE BELOW
Basic idea is: start TSISOON with the options:
1. "compact this db"

The company I work for has been running Access 2000 on a Windows NT
server with Opportunistic Locking turned off on the server without
issue for almost a year. We have just switched to a Windows 2000 file
server with service pack 3 installed and are now experiencing at least
2 corruptions a day. The registry setting for Opportunistic Locking
that was on the Windows NT server does not exist on the Windows 2000
server so we can not make the...

The web application is running on the Windows 2003 server environment.
The virtual directory is mapped to say
"C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MyApplication" directory. When we try to create a
file and save it to the .\MyApplication directory, we get the folowing
error
Could not find a part of the path "C:\"

Excuse me for asking such a stupid question...
Our databse configured for incremental backup's (trackmod on), we need
to drop a tablespace . Will this cause the incremental backup's to
fail? (earlier we had a similar issue when we created a tablespace
after the full backup ).

Hi all.
Yesterday we decided to switch from full online nightly backups to the
following schema:
sun: full online
mon-sat: incremental online.
Important to note; we don't use deltas.
Well it seems to work.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
