Hi,
I'm trying to understand a situation where ASP seems to be "blocking" of
"queuing" requests. This is on a Win2K Advanced Server, with IIS5.
I've seen some posts (e.g.,
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=Tidy7IDbDHA.2108%40cpmsftngxa06.phx.gbl)
that indicate that ASP will queue up requests when they come in with the
same "session".

Hello,
Is the multiple instances capability of SQL2K mature enough for a
Production system?
We're looking at upgrading our hardware but the proposed solution
calls for consolidating two currently separate SQL Server's onto one
machine with two CPU's.
Of the current two servers, one is for OLTP (~800Mb) and the other for

Looking to find any information on how to properly configure multiple
instances of DB2. This is on Win2k db2 ver 7.2. I am basically looking
for information on how the multiple instance settings should
configured to work, how memory is shared or not, etc. I can not seem
to find any good links to this information.
Thanks,
Mike

I have a Aix 5.2 server with DB2 UDB 8.1
I created three different instances using the db2setup utility three
times. The default instance is db2inst1. When I su - db2inst2 and su -
db2inst3 and run the db2cc to see the command center I do not see any
instances. All I see in the left window is the top level directory. Is
this normal?
How can I see all the instances?
Also how can I start all three instances?
Please inform me.
Thanks,

Hi,
Our hosting company recently shut-down our site because of the resources it
was using on a co-hosted server. Apparently, it was spawning multiple
instances of ASPNET_WP.EXE.
I'm having a little trouble recreating this locally so was wondering where I
can information about when, why and how IIS/ASP.NET will spawn new instances
of ASPNET_WP.EXE so that I can gain an insight into why this is happening on
our server.

I currently have a Windows Service that runs Transactions that are very
Processor/Memory Intensive. I have a requirement to deploy multiple
instances of the Web service on the Same server. Each Instance needs to
run in its own process.
My current approach to this is to put all the logic into a separate
"Worker" assembly and install it into the GAC. I'm then going to create
Multiple Windows Services (i.e. MyService1, MyService2 etc..)...

This post is realy to get some opinions on the best way of getting fast
comunication between multiple applications. I have scowered the web for
imformation on this subject and have just found conflicting views and
far from ideal solutions.
My application has to send small amounts of data about 50bytes to
multiple client applications. The catch is that this has to happen
about 1000 times a second.
My first attempt was .net remotting...

Have a web application which uses Data Cache.
I need to understand what happens when a new instance of the same web
application is created for
for serving concurrent clients.
What happens when the data in the cache expires (either due to
expiration or due to dependency change)
do all instances of the Http Application replace the cached data at the
same time.
Thus what I am essentially asking is, in a single server scenario if
multiple...

What is the memory footprint of static methods of a windows app running on a
server when the server spins up multiple instances of the application?
In my envirionment, we have a Citrix server farm running .Net 2.0 windows
apps. Does the framework allow for instances of the same application to
access the same memory space where static methods are stored (assuming the
security context is the same for each instance)?
