Hi,
I've been using Visual Studio (not .Net) for many years (6+). I'm just now
switching to VS.NET 2003. I am building my first project. In the past, I
tend to work on my local machine (having local versions of IIS and SQL
Server). Then after I'm ready to move the site to the web, I will initially
create a new project in the same solution that contains the web server on
the Internet. I start by doing a full copy, and then as I make...

Hello-
I have a Sql Server 2000 database offsite that I would like to back up
to a local machine. I am using Enterprise Manager on a local machine to
administer the remote db.
Whats the best way to schedule backups so the remote db is backed up to
the local machine?
Can this be done in Enterprise Manager?
Would you recommend any 3rd party software?

I have to take all records in a SQL db that have an empty val_code field
and process and update the records with a code number in the val_code field.
The processing is done by sending select info from each record to a
remote server. The remote server returns the code number to be put in
the val_code field. The remote server will allow me to have up to 5
"sessions" open with it at a time.
I'm thinking each "session" will have to be in...

Hello,
I want to put (incrementally) changed/new files from a big file tree
"directly,compressed and password-only-encrypted" to a remote backup
server incrementally via FTP,SFTP or DAV.... At best within a closed
algorithm inside Python without extra shell tools.
(The method should work with any protocol which allows somehow read,
write & seek to a remote file.)
On the server and the transmission line there should never be...

access via localhost. No problem at all.
Now, I'm trying to deploy the app I done to a windows 2003 server, with
IIS 6.0 and in wich I installed the Visual Studio 2003 server
components (for web development). It has ASP.Net 1.1 too.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
