Python x Postgresql Thrreading Problem

Hello,

I am attempting to compile postgresql from source with python enable. I
have compiled & installed python on my machine according to the
instruction, installation seems fine

My Platform ==>
# uname -a
FreeBSD econ.com 4.9-STABLE FreeBSD 4.9-STABLE #0: Wed Nov 12
17:41:01 PST 2003
ro**@standard.d edicated.financ e.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/STANDARD i386

Running Python from the shell
# python
Python 2.4.2 (#2, Dec 19 2005, 05:08:47)
[GCC 2.95.4 20020320 [FreeBSD]] on freebsd4
Type "help", "copyright" , "credits" or "license" for more information.

When I configure Postgresql it stops with a
checking for python... /usr/local/bin/python
checking for Python distutils module... yes
checking Python configuration directory...
/usr/local/lib/python2.4/config
checking how to link an embedded Python application...
-L/usr/local/lib/python2.4/config -lpython2.4 -lutil -lm
checking whether Python is compiled with thread support... yes
configure: error: *** Threaded Python not supported on this platform ***

How can I correct this? is there a non-threaded python installation?
Python is installed on the platform and seems to be functional so I
guess it might be a PostgreSQL interaction

Thanks

Adam

Hi, I'm looking for an object-relational layer, which can wrap a MySQL database into highly pythonic objects. There seem to be dozens of packages which provide some of this functionality, but all the ones I've looked at so far have major drawbacks. What I'm looking for in an object-relational wrapper layer is:

Greetings. In an effort to get python2.4 on my Centos 3.7, I installed the python bootstrap rpm. This installed 2.4 alongside 2.2 and updated yum to 2.4.0. Oddly, it didn't create a symlink 'python' for either 2.2 or 2.4. I also get a series of troubling dependency errors when I run yum update. Below is the output of the bootstrap install, which includes both a failure early on (possibly related to alternatives and/or the symlink?)...

Hi, I want to write a small system that is transaction based. I want to split the GUI front end data entry away from the file handling and record keeping. Now it seems almost trivially easy using the sockets module to communicate between machines on the same LAN, so that I want to do the record keeping on one machine.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
