Hi, I'm fairly new to regular expressions, and this may be a rather dumb question, but so far I haven't found the answer in any tutorial or reference yet... If I have f.i. the string "The {{{{power of {{{{regular expressions}}}} comes from}}}} the ability to include alternatives and repetitions in the pattern." from which I want to extract chunks starting with "{{{{" and ending with "}}}}".

I have a table that stores a list of zip codes using a varchar column type, and I need to perform some string prefix pattern matching search. Let's say that I have the columns: 94000-1235 94001 94100 If I run a pattern matching search for the string "940", then I should get the top two rows of data back. If I run a pattern matching search for the string "94", then I should get all the three rows of data back.

Hallöchen! I need some help with finding matches in a string that has some characters which are marked as escaped (in a separate list of indices). Escaped means that they must not be part of any match. My current approach is to look for matches in substrings with the escaped characters as boundaries between the substrings. However, then ^ and $ in the patterns are treated wrongly. (Although I use startpos and endpos parameters for...

Purpose The purpose of this article is to discuss the difference between characters inside a character class and outside a character class and some special characters inside a character class. This is not a regular expression tutorial. Assumes you are already familiar with basic regular expression concepts and terminology. If not, you may want to read some regular expression tutorial. See the end of the article for links to online resources....

Hey everyone, For the regular expression gurus... I'm trying to write a string matching algorithm for genomic sequences. I'm pulling out Genes from a large genomic pattern, with certain start and stop codons on either side. This is simple enough... for example: start = AUG stop=AGG BBBBBBAUGWWWWWWAGGBBBBBB

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
