I have a database in sql_ascii that I need to convert to Unicode. I tried using
pg_dump -Fc .. but it fails on certain characters. like this one "è"
How can I get the data transferred?

Hi, Anybody have an idea of copying data from tables of a database to another database. It should be a choice to select all tables, single table or several tables. For them knowing Oracle it is possible to do it with 'exp', where you can choose to script the database with or without data. So I am trying to get alike to MSSQL. The job is to unload data from a database with one structure to another database with another structure.

Hi there. We have an application that can run on a non-unicode or a unicode sql server database. Currently the application is running in a unicode database, as a non-unicode database is less than half the size, I would prefer to have a non-unicode database for demo purposes to be on my laptop, etc etc

Hi Gurus I have a database full of text that I have downloaded from a website (ftp download, read file, parse file (i.e. break it down into parts), move it into a table, etc...). My next step now is to load this data into a MySQL database on the net for a PHP website. HOWEVER, the funny characters on the original website (e.g. unicode characters, etc.... etc...) are doing really nasty things. The MySQL thaat I use does not support...

Hi, I've been putting Python data into a sqlite3 database as tuples but when I retrieve them they come back as unicode data e.g 'u(1,2,3,4)'.How can I change it back to a tuple so I can use it as a Python native datatype? I have looked in the docs and seen there is a decode/encode method but how do I do this? Hope you can help.

What I have is a bunch of text in arabic, and series of Unicode bytes which represent those arabic words (like this: \'c2\'e4\'f6\'d3\'f3\'c9 \'f1). Now I have to figure out how to convert my arabic text to bunch of \'somethings. If I understood Unicode correctly (and I'm not sure if I did), I first have to figure out which encoding this is (UTF-16 or UTF-32 or some other) and then convert the letters to their byte representation. I think...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
