Wonder if anyone can help. So, I've read: >> http://uk2.php.net/function.mysql-pconnect >> http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/features.persistent-connections.php Can one seriously see persistent connections as a form of db connection pooling? Is it really similar? Thanks for any clarification from anyone,

I get this error mysql_pconnect Too many connections ... every now and then. Does anyone knows where it comes from ? There are a lot of sites running on the server and all of them use the Database frequently. Is there any configuration that I will have to do to my server in order to handle the load ? Thank you... I would appreciate answers from someone that already experienced that

Dear peoples, Periodically we are getting runaway postgres processes on our Linux (2.4.21-0.13 on Dell servers), using 7.4 and GIS (0.8 USE_GEOS=1 USE_PROJ=1 USE_STATS=1). All of the queries come in from remote servers using JDBC/proxool; once every 4 hours we have a process on the client side that cleans out old connections. All the processes are doing is single queries -- no inserts or updates. Very occasionally we will see a...

Hi Folks I am just trying to get my head around whether I can use a single SQLConnection for the life of the application or whether I should create it only when needed. I want to create cached SQLCommand objects that are then prepared to reduce subsequent execution time, but these can't be prepared unless their Connection property has been set.

When I'm using FastCGI do I need to code differently than I do when using regular CGI? Because the PHP.exe processes don't go away do global variables stick around from page request to page request, creating the need for better managment / pooling of DB connections? Josh

Good evening folks: I'm maintaining an Access ADP project that interfaces with a MS SQL Server 2000. I've been noticing looking at the sysprocesses table that for every user in the ADP access creates three processes no matter what the user is doing. Those three processes tend to expand depending on the number of operations being performed by the user. My question is, letting Access manage the server connections appears to let access...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
