Hi,
I'm having trouble with the foreach function. I'm using it twice
inside a user defined function with two different arrays, and in the
second instance it's returning the value of the first key for all the
keys. My code is shown below and the problem areas are marked with
comments. In case you're wondering, this script is for generating
sticky checkboxes that include an event handler. Many thanks to anyone
who can help.

Some authors advocate returning const objects:
const Point operator+(const Point&, const Point&);
^^^^^
Returning a const object prevents some bad code from compiling:
Point a, b, c;
(a + b) = c; // error

Hello,
I'm wondering if returning const references to a class member is
generally faster than returning a copy of the object.
Consider this code:
class A
{
std::string data;
public:

Hello all,
From doing a google serach in the newsgroups I found out that a
string can't be returned from a function, but using a char* I should
be able to do it. I have spent most of the day trying to get this to
work, but been unable to solve my mistake. What the function should
return is a file name used for creating logs files. It will look
something like
JN122345.log

The .NET documentation talks about blittable and non-blittable types. While
objects of type System::Object* are non-blittable it doesn't say anything
about objects of user-defined classes. All the COM interop examples I've
seen always return objects of types of the System namespace. But what if you
want to return an object of a user-defined managed class?
public __gc class A {
public:
int i;
A(int value) : i(value) { }

After copying my project from our testing server (Windows server 2003) to my local machine (Windows XP Professional), via unzipping a ZIP file, for continued development I continuously receive the following parser error
Could not load type 'alss.tenant.plan.bathing
(then it highlights, in red, this line from the user controls ascx page
Line 1: <%@ Control CodeBehind="bathing.ascx.cs" Language="c#" AutoEventWireup="false"...

I want to find out the best way for a method to notify calling code of
situations such as validation errors, etc. that may occur during method
execution.
e.g. say I have a method (business logic layer) that inserts a user into a
database, and returns the newly created UserID:
public function CreateUser(userName as string, userEmail as string)
dim userID as integer

I have a large web site converted from 1.1 to 2.0 and in VS 2005, the IDE
complains that in the ASPX file (html source):
Error 1 Element 'stylesheet' is not a known element. This can

$_GET to a script that uses $_POST, but the validation script now
returns NULL values for all posted vars.
What's the deal?
NOTE: when i use $_GET the script just works.
Thanks in advance for helping a noob.

I am supposed to use two classes to perform one of three math operations depending on the user's choice. Use if statements to allow the user to choose which math operation to execute.
So I created two files one file called Math and the other MathStart. Please see below.
Must ‘if’ statements have an else? I think what is suppose to happen is, I prompt the user to see with choice they want to use and then whichever they choose that program is...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
