[Fwd: Slony-I release 1.0.2 includes PostgreSQL 8.0 support]

I posted this to Announce, but somehow it doesn't make it through. Since
it would be important for people who want to replicate their 8.0.0 BETA
test databases, I repeat this here.

The Slony team has released version 1.0.2 of its replication engine
following on the new PostgreSQL 8.0.0 BETA 1, the worlds most advanced
open source database.

With this version, the Slony-I replication system allows you to use its
advanced node switching features to make version upgrades to PostgreSQL
8.0 in minutes, regardless of database size.

Version 1.0.2 also fixes minor bugs, and is a drop-in replacement for
existing Slony-I 1.0.0 or 1.0.1 installations. Please visit

for further information.

Do you have plan to insert in Slony-I the ability to use the PITR in order
to have the hot spare node ? See the Erik work and my one.

I got the following email from Darsh Mehta. I am unable to move to New York myself, but maybe someone else here will be interested. In that case, please contact this person. He says he can pay up to $35/hr. --- I was wondering if you are available and if you would be interested in a python/c++ consulting position in NY. Its a 8+month project with good chances of a possible extension. Please call me at my number below or reply back...

Hi all, esp. list admins! Why is it that I always get bounces saying my mails have suspicious headers lately when I post to python-list? This only happens when I reply to myself (as I just did, because my reply to "Partitions of an Integer" contained two little mistakes, which I wanted to correct in a followup...) I've never had this before mail.python.org switched to XS4ALL... If any of the mail admins happen to be reading this, it'd...

It appears that the Slony list isn't accepting traffic/posts at all. I posted a message yesterday (2004-08-24) and haven't even received it myself at this point (2004-08-25). Just thought I'd give a heads up, in case now one knew. ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 4: Don't 'kill -9' the postmaster

I'm using 2005.Net C++ compiler. I have a base class in namespace A (call it Class1). I derive another class from it, (call it Class2) defined in namespace B. This derived class contains as a member datum a pointer to an object of type Class3 from namespace A, and thus requires forward declaration. I attempted the following in the Class 2 hpp file: #include "Class1.hpp" // << Base class "A::Class1" - need this of course.

So on the quest of trying to synch two or more db's I've had problems try to get two PSQL Replicator db's to connect. My requirements are as follows Two way comms - master / slave model wont work The "other" db is on another continent where the connection drops out all the time. Merging is not an issue - it must lock tables and / or columns So I started looking at Slony-I which is built into PSQL. but I stumbled across this info...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
