Determining when db last updated

CSN
Would it be possible to determine the last time data
in a database was added/updated/deleted? Whether via
checking the system catalogs, creating a trigger, or
something else?

I have a form set to Single Form mode with which I can cycle through the records in a table via Next and Previous buttons. To avoid users pressing the Previous button on the first record and the Next button on the last record, I would like to disable one or both buttons when the first and/or last record is displayed. I am not sure how to do this when the RecordSource is simply the table. I know that if the record source were a...

Hello, I am trying to bypass a form's automatic update, and instead call a stored procedure in sql server. I am using continuous forms. The problem I am having is with returning to the next selected record once I have performed the update. i.e. user edits record A and then clicks on record B. Record A is updated, and selection moves to record B. I don't know how to determine what record B is...

Hello, Is there an easy way to determine the highest point in an array that contains a value? I'm dimensioning an array to hold up to 255 items, but if it only contains three, I don't want to cycle through all 255 if that's possible. any ideas? Thanks!

Hey gang, What's the best way to implement a Build version (or "last updated" date) in my web-app? I have a footer in my master page that displays the application's name and copyright info etc. I'd like to add a Build version and build date as well. (Without hardcoding it obviously.) At first I thought I'd just take the timestamp of the web.config, but my web.config doesn't change that much. Is there an easy way to determine what day...

Does anyone know how to have Access put the "last updated" date on a report? I have a table of our university's athletic events, grouped by each sport per page. I'm trying to get the report to print the last date updated, even if the secretary who does the input has to put it in - hopefully i can set it to prompt her or do it automatically. If anyone has an idea, I'd really appreciate it. I can give further details of the set up, but...

Hi: I'm working on my first SQL Server-backend application and am already running into trouble. This is an application that has run successfully with a Jet backend, and I'm starting out by trying to just use linked SQL Server tables and not changing any of the front-end code. The problem seems basic. In a table with an autonumber primary key ("TestUnitID") I'm in a module and adding a record. I'll also need to add a record to a...

I am using visual studio 2005 to develop a form using c# I have 3 datagrids on one form. I can set the row color based on a certain value in a column. However this color applies to all 3 datagrida. I would like to set it so that if value of column 3 in datagrid 1 is < 100 set to red, if = 100 set to green if value of column 3 in datagrid 2 is < 90 set to red, if >= 90 set to green if value of column 3 in datagrid 3is < 80 set to red,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
