Hello list...
I'm developing an adventure game in Python (which of course is lots of
fun). One of the features is the ability to save games and restore the
saves later. I'm using the pickle module to implement this. Capturing
current program state and neatly replacing it later is proving to be
trickier than I first imagined, so I'm here to ask for a little
direction from wiser minds than mine!

Hello,
I've accidently created a whole bunch of tables and sequences in
template1.
I didn't actually want the information in template1 but with the slip of
a key my script piped all the commands into it and now all the info is
there, doh!.
Problem is now that I try to create the DB I want, all the view and
structures are already there.

Hi
I have a problem with the restoring of a database which uses tsearch2. I
made a backup as discribed in 'tsearch-v2-intro' on the tsearch2 page.
Now i'm trying to restore it into a testdatabase. The problem is, that
the entries of the relations 'pg_ts_cfg', 'pg_ts_cfgmap', 'pg_ts_dict'
and 'pg_ts_parser' are not correctly restored. I get errors like:
psql:restoretest.out:28223: ERROR: copy: line 1, Cannot insert a

I have two machines between which I exchange dumps a
lot. On the first (Windows/cygwin), pgsql was set up
with "Administrator" as the main superuser - who owns
all schemas in template0 and template1. On the second
machine (Linux), "postgres" is pgsql's main superuser.
On whatever machines I do "createdb", the owner of the
schemas in template0/1 is copied over to the schemas
in the new database, even when specifying the owner
parameter...

All of my non-superusers are restricted from creating databases.
Whenever I upgrade Postgres, I have to hand-edit my dump and change:
CREATE USER usr1 WITH SYSID 101 PASSWORD '...' NOCREATEDB NOCREATEUSER;
into:
CREATE USER usr1 WITH SYSID 101 PASSWORD '...' CREATEDB NOCREATEUSER;
and then after the restore, I do a:

interface to ESEBCLI2.dll for online backup and restore features. Everything
works fine with Exchange 2003 and also when backing up Exchange 2000, yet

Every so often, I'm asked to help people recover data from tables that
were either dropped or where to much data was DELETEed.
The complications related to restoring data are a problem. The SAS users
are laughing because they can (to a certain extend) easily go back to an
earlier SAS table by simply starting dsm. Of course, a flat file table is
different than a relational table; but still, the trouble related to

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
