I'm trying to learn more Python and have come across a strange
behavior.
I have Python2.3 installed on a Win2K machine. If I start the python
command line, I can do the following:
Python 2.3.2 (#49, Oct 2 2003, 20:02:00)
on win32
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import os
>>> os.getcwd()
'C:\\Python23'

Sometimes when I try to start up idle.py (by double-clicking on the icon), I
get the message:
Python subprocess socket error: Connection refused, retrying....
It repeats the message a couple of times and then prints:
Connection to Idle failed, exiting.
Any idea what's going on?

Hi,
I would like to use IDLE as interactively as I can with Emacs. In Emacs
I can send a marked region to the Python interpreter. Is there any way
to do the same thing with IDLE?
Thank you in advance

I'm having trouble with opening the python IDLE-program. When I try to start
it, it gives an errormessage wich states that it can not make a connection,
possibly because of a firewall. However, adding it to firewalls exeptions or
even disabeling the firewall has no effect.
These are the errors:
1st. 'Socket error: Connection refused', with the name IDLE subprocess Error
2nd. 'IDLE's subprocess didn't make connection. Either IDLE can't...

I'm having trouble with opening the IDLE and running programs. Every time I
try to open it, it says:
1. Socket error: Connection refused
2. IDLE's subprocess didn't make connection. Either IDLE can't start a
subprocess or personal firewall software is blocking the connection.
Point is, I allready entered python as an exception to my firewall and when
I disable it, the messages keep apearing. Can anyone help?

After simply trying to write a program with help(MakeQTE), a module, and
having it fail with socket errors, I decided to restart IDLE, thinking I
knew the cause. I'm now getting msgs like: "IDLE's subprocess didn't make
connection. ... firewall may be blocking the connection." I doubt the FW
connection. There's a small X warning dialog that says "Socket Error:
Connection refused." Is there a way to reset IDLE?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
