tim
I have problems to connect my postgres db in Openoffice 1.1 via jdbc.

I can open the tables and run queries. But when try to create or alter
tables OpenOffice crashes.

My Settings

ClassPath /usr/share/pgsql/pg73b1jdbc2.jar :/usr/share/pgsql/pg73b1jdbc3.jar

JDBC Driver Class org.postgresql. Driver

Is there a reason you're using the jdbc driver ? ODBC works perfectly fine.
Also the platform would be interesting.

The new OpenOffice::OODoc distribution, V 1.203, is available from CPAN today. It's an Expat-based Perl extension allowing direct read/write access to OpenOffice.org (XML) documents. It provides an object representation of the OOo documents, with a lot of methods to get, create, update or delete any content or presentation element, and attempts to hide the most part of the complex XPath navigation. This toobox is an XML API that deal...

Hi, I've just installed postgres on the Linux server. It is supposed to start automatically which I think it does since I can run an sql stmt right away. When I'm trying to connect from a remote machine I get a message that the remote machine IP address is not specified in pg_hba.conf, that there is no record of that machine there. ph_hba.conf is set up correctly, because when I run the following: postmaster -i -D /var/lib/pgsql/data...

Is it possible to establish a connection from within a postgres database to another external database on the network, i.e., not a java or scripting connection, BUT by some type of table definition within the postgres database of that external database table source - something similar to a proxy definition. Examples of external database could be MSAccess, Oracle, Sybase, MSQLServer, etc. The idea behind this would to be able to at least...

Hi everyone, during our development, we need to write some unit tests that interact with OpenOffice through pyUno. Is there anyone who has got any experience on it? As OpenOffice is quite a large beast, and interaction is rather complex, I would like to know if there is someone who is willing to share experience (and, possibly, code).

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
