We have a CMS which is written is based on php & mysql. Recently we received
a request to support multiple languages so that sites in that particular
laguage can be created. I did some search on the google and it seems I have
to build in multibyte support for php and mysql. Mbstring
(http://us3.php.net/mbstring) claims to support multiple languages with a
caution saying it might not work properly.
After further research it seems unicode...

Being new in the newsgroups, I was not sure which group would

Hi,
I almost read all of the "DB2 vs Oracle" thread...
The summary I got from that was all databases essentially do the same
things, the decision of which one you use primarily depends on available
skillsets, software vendor support, and customer/tech support.
I will be facing a decision on migrating our SAP Informix database to
either Oracle, DB2UDB, or Sqlserver. I don't think we are going to
SqlServer. I have some Oracle...

I'm trying to understand the timeline for Window 2003 ending mainstream
support. I have consulted the MS lifecycle support center for 2K3 and 2K3
R2(http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?p1=3198 and
http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?p1=10394 ) but it is unclear to me
exactly when mainstream support ends. Both say 'Mainstream support will end
two years...

<!-- When deploying the service library project, the content of the
config file must be added to the host's app.config file.
System.Configuration does not support config files for libraries. -->
I assume "libraries" here to mean DLL's. If that's the case, is there
any way to supply both ends of a service (client and host) with the code
for the class that describes the contact WITHOUT a duplication in
source code?
Thanks.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
