I have to update a PostgreSQL linked server through MSSQL2K.
I first configured the connection with ODBC as follows and I can do queries
with no problem:
EXEC sp_droplinkedsrvlogin @rmtsrvname = 'PostgreSQL', @locallogin = NULL

EXEC sp_DropServer 'PostgreSQL'

Hi all,
Following up on another thread, here is a comparison between FB and PG
from an FB'ers POV. BTW, FB is the love-child of Open-Source-Interbase.
BTW, I have tried to be as accurate as I can with the information
available to me at this point in time - I was unable to find anything
resembling a feature list on the FB site, so most of this is from
memory. I do have an email account on the various lists on that site,
and I will post...

Greetings,
In short:
Using a new FreeBSD (4.9) PostgreSQL (7.3) server, can I
rescue PostgreSQL data from a hard drive pulled from an
older (motherboard just died) FreeBSD (4.??) PostgreSQL (7.??)
server? If so, how?
The long version:

For ease of configuration and other reasons, I would like for my
single-user GUI app to be able to use postgresql in-process as a library
accessing a database created in the users home directory. I think I
could possibly get what I want by launching a captive copy of postmaster
with appropriate args but it seems conceptually cleaner to not have a
seperate process at all. Has anyone tried to do anything like this?
I've looked at sqlite...

Hello,
I originally installed postgresql as root user and now I am setting up a
development environment with cvs and a java ide and tomcat. I have
everything with the exception of postgresql integreted using a non-root
user.
THe process I am using is to logon as postges and start the database
and do queries from the command line using psql. Then I logoff and logon
as phil and start tomcat and my java ide.

I have tried contacting the list owner, but nobody responds so I am
knowingly sending administrative mail to the list. Sorry folks.
For months, particularly since February, I have been receiving e-mail
that is out-of-date. Since they are relatively old (weeks to months) I
cannot say whether or not they are duplicates. A copy of such an e-mail
I just received this morning is attached along its headers. Note that

I am getting the following problem with trying to install from source
PHP 4.3.6 with PG support on FreeBSD 5.2.1. I have PostgreSQL 7.4.2
recently upgraded from 7.3.x and it is up and running fine. I also have
Heimdal 0.6 installed and PostgreSQL was built with that support. Is the
error below from something missing on the Heimdal side of things or
PostgreSQL? And what does anyone suggest to resolve the issue? Maybe I
need to rebuild...

Hi,
I recently downloaded source code for 8.0.0 beta1. When I tried building the libpq for windows, I got some compilation errors. Following the compilation output:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
