function restore order

I am running 7.2.4

I have 2 functions:
get_deficiency_ days_old()
and
get_deficiency_ days_old_sub()

The former basically is just a wrapper for the latter.

The problem is that when I restored from a pg_dump script, the former was
recreated first, and so the function create command failed because the sub
was not created yet:
CREATE FUNCTION "get_deficiency _days_old" (integer) RETURNS integer
<snip...>
ERROR: Function 'get_deficiency _days_old_sub(d ate, timestamp, bpchar)' does
not
exist
Unable to identify a function that satisfies the given argument types
You may need to add explicit typecasts

Is there a way to set dependencies or order for the function backups when
using pg_dump?

Thanks

I am using this procedure from net for getting the restore script. It lists the latest full backup file name and logs after that point. Is there any way to modify this script to take either date or time as parameter and give the files for restore? I need this if I need to restore the data up to last week/upto some point of time. CREATE procedure usp_what_files_to_restore as --

I have a restore (redirected) job running for about an hour. Is there any way, to identify how long the restore will take? I have a few hundred containers totaling couple of 100G to restore. I don't see the containers being restored in any order, so its hard to calculate based on that info. I am looking the last accessed files from unix (ls -lt). Thanks, DA.

Thanks your reply. The article I read is from www.hakin9.org/en/attachments/stackoverflow_en.pdf. And you're right. I don't know it very clearly. And that's why I want to understand it; for it's useful to help me to solve some basic problem which I may not perceive before. I appreciate your help, sincerely.

Hi all, This really is quite an urgent matter. I have a page with multiple, dynamically-loaded user controls and when a user clicks on a button, the whole form is submitted. Now at this stage I know I need to call a function that will save data but I'm not sure exactly when to call this function. I've tried two ways and both seem to have 'gotcha's':

I am trying to restore a SQL Server database from a .dat file. An earlier question on how to do this elicited the following answer. " You need to know how the '.dat' file was created in order to import it. Use RESTORE FILELISTONLY to determine if this is a database backup: RESTORE FILELISTONLY FROM DISK='C:\MyDatabase.dat'

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
