browsing the files of a folder online

hi,

i have a folder on my webspace called 'images'. is it possible to
browse through them using something like a while loop and get the
filename?

For example, i can browse the rows of a table using:

while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) {...

i was hoping to use something similar to browse the files in the
folder. preferably something that will use php's ftp commands because
i will be deleting certain files using php ftp commands and i could
use the same ftp connection but either way let me know. cheers

http://us2.php.net/manual/en/function.fopen.php

This is the fopen function, refer to the "See also:" section lower down
the page, it gives all the functions used for dealing with files and
folders.
