Book suggestion for beginner PHP programmers

5 New Member
It seems that the book I trusted will give some tools to learn PHP is not that good (Learning PHP and MySQL, O'Reilly 1st Ed). Lots of errors and not quite current on latest PHP usage. Errata on their site is not updated either, its time to dump the book and look for something better.

So, if anybody has an suggestion on a great book for beginner PHP programmers I'll appreciate a title or two.

I tried looking at it and it just looks like Chinese to me!

Maybe with some more practice and patience I'll start getting the hang of it and learning how to figure it out!

would be nice to have a step by step reference as to where to start!

I only have a advanced PHP book … well, in the end, you need something to practise on, the rest you can find in online tutorials.

Whatever book you get, make sure you get the *latest* addition of it. O'rielly's books are typically very good. The "Head First" books by them are very good for beginners.
