Script running under Command Prompt or Browser or some otherapplication?

Hi!,

I just out of curiosity want to know how top detect the client side
application under which the script is getting run. I mean to ask the
how to know whether the script is running under Command Prompt or
Browser or some other application?

jerry, you've missed his point. it's not about *how* php is executed as cgi,
module, cli or any combination from the command-line or the web server. it's
completely about being *able* to use any combination of the
aforementioned...and being able to tell, as the script writer, what
environment the code is being run under.

Glad to see that someone knowing English better than me can understand what I
wrote.

yeah, it's just too bad jerry, being a native english speaker, cannot
understand what someone else writes...in english. it's probably that he
reads what he wants, regardless of what you wrote.
